For caregivers, the Alliance serves as a negotiating platform, building capacity and enhancing livelihoods through sustainable collective enterprise. For communities, the Alliance members who live and work there are an essential resource for care and support of the sick and a legal resource for cases of asset stripping and disinheritance.
The Alliance has become a vehicle through which the voices of the marginalized and silent, who feel the worst effects of the epidemic but have no way of improving their situation or speaking out to change it.
